WELCOME!

Welcome to our website! We're Ladies' Circle Voorne, existing since 1994 and happy to greet our international friends. We're a down-to-earth group of seventeen members and still growing.

It's nearly impossible to translate our whole website for you, because we have so much things going on in our Circle year. But feel free to browse our website and get a feel for our club by seeing the photos.

WHAT WE DO

We meet twice a month, every 2nd and 4th wednesday. One of those meetings is a business meeting to discuss our service projects and other activities.  The other evening we organize activities for our members with themes such as culinary, sportive, spiritual, cultural, historic. We have activities with our former Ladies, our partners or even whole families at the yearly Family Barbecue and New Years party.

Service is a main item every year. In the past we supported different national projects (like research for a cure against metabolic disorders, Mappa Mondo and the Pink Ribbon foundation) and the international projects Ma'ma Rachel, Nepal Highlander Orphan Children Care and SARIS (a sanitary project in India). And on top we choose every year one or two projects ourselves, which can either be local projects or projects in the Netherlands or abroad. For example in the year 2007-2008 we have supported the Down Syndrom Foundation by the organization of their World Down Syndrom Day, in the year 2008-2009 we supported a foundation in India, founded by a woman in our community as well as a foundation for children with Cystic Fibrosis. And besides trying to raise as much money as possible for our service projects, we also like to do 'hands-on projects' like organizing a bingo and high tea afternoon for elderly and mentally disabled persons.

Our contribution to national & international Circling

As a Circle we tend to also look towards national and international Circling. Three members of our Circle have been part of the National Serviceproject committee, two of our members have held posts in the National Board and one of us served as LC International President. Furthermore quite a few of our members were involved in the organisation of the LC International AGM 2006 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. We donated the name 'Circulaire' to our national magazine and were the first Dutch Circle with a website.
